This project is used to automate the home appliances through Bluetooth enabled PC. You can use the USB Bluetooth at the PC side and an Serail Bluetooth converter is used at the microcontroller side. The sparkfun bluetooth module is used here, but you can use any serial luetooth module which supports SPP profile....

Can you find the bluetooth module from your laptop. Do you have serial port enabled for your laptop bluetooth module. Check it from the device manager.

    hello binu ;)

i was make this project for my final year project, and the bluetooth i using hc-06
the temp sensor use ds18B20 so the temp on the lcd just 0.00C but it doesnt matter for this time
i just want to use the controlling switch
but there is a major problem.
i think the bluetooth transfered un valid data.
they just sent FF FF FF FF FF FF and so on when i see at the blueterm/h-term software
i set the bluetooth baud rate to 115200 and i see on the BASCOM the microcontroller is having 115200 baud rate to
    i used 3.6864 crystal with 33pF
    RX bt to TX mcu
    TX bt to RX mcu

i try to change baud rate but still same problem

and i read on some website. if you want to use extrernal crystal. you must setting the fuse bit ATMEGA8
so the atmega8 use external crystal instead of internal crystal 1mHz

is really true that i must set the fuse bit?
    and how to do it?
    i have lost 2 atmega8 :(

if it's no need to set the fuse bit
    where i was wrong?
    please help me

    thank you binu :D
    best regard
