In this project we use to have Keyboard functions through remote, no mouse control is done.
You can assign key for left arrow, right arrow, Enter, ESC and so on.

This project can sense only the remotes which works on RC5 protocols.

You are using the normal TV remote, so u may work with the remote on your TV.
It will have all the effects which your TV remote has.

You can only load HEX files on the chip.
