I want to Run an IR-LED with 38KHz signal from the microcontroller.

tried 555 timer but thought using Microcontrolller is better

Can some one please help me in the generation of the required 38KHz Pulse generation Please ?

I'm using 8051 so ASM or C should do.

And do you think NAND gate can be used for this ?
I seen a circuit that uses NAND gate for generating CLOCK for the ADC (in my GreenBee Project i mentioned in another thread).
so can this be used to drive the IR-LED ?
