controlling motor pump using microcontroller

    Hi,
    I want to control my motor that pumps water using micro controller to automatically turn it on or off whenever the water level reaches a certain height in the tank. I am not able to think of a component to connect the micro controller to the motor power supply. can anyone pls help me with this.

    use relay to drive your motor. use simple transistor to drive relay from microcontroller.
